The Vigyan Bhairav Tantra is an ancient dialogue between Shiva and Devi (Parvati), in which Devi asks fundamental questions about reality, consciousness, space, time, and liberation.

Shiva does not respond with philosophy or belief.
Instead, he offers 112 direct meditation techniques — precise inner methods designed to guide awareness back to its source.

This work is not theoretical.
It is a practical science of consciousness, intended to be experienced rather than studied intellectually.

About This Adaptation

In this adaptation, each of the 112 meditation techniques has been distilled into a 15-minute audio-guided session, making the practices accessible for modern daily life while preserving their original intent.

The sessions are designed to be:

  • experiential rather than conceptual

  • concise yet profound

  • suitable for independent exploration

These meditations are not presented as a linear training.
Each technique is a complete doorway in itself.

The Nature of Tantra (Important Clarification)

Tantra is not about sexuality.

In its original meaning, tantra is a direct method for expanding consciousness — a science of inner perception that uses breath, sensation, sound, attention, and awareness as gateways to realization.

The Vigyan Bhairav Tantra explores awareness through:

  • breath awareness

  • sensory presence

  • inner space

  • sound and vibration

  • attention, stillness, and absorption

These techniques are subtle, powerful, and deceptively simple — like seeds that unfold through contemplation and repeated practice.

Practice Approach

The guided meditations may include:

  • breath awareness inspired by Anapanasati

  • deep inner observation aligned with Vipassana principles

  • selected uses of sound, mantra, movement, or stillness

  • contemplative exploration rather than forced concentration

Each meditation stands on its own.
You may practice them individually or return to specific techniques over time.

Who This Practice Is For

This practice is suitable for:

  • practitioners with some meditation experience

  • those drawn to non-dual and contemplative traditions

  • seekers who prefer experiential exploration over belief systems

  • practitioners wishing to explore awareness beyond structured paths

This practice complements — but does not replace — a disciplined daily meditation path.

A selection of sample meditations is shared freely on platforms such as YouTube, allowing you to explore the approach before committing to deeper practice.

These meditations are offered as a contemplative library, not a linear course. You are invited to explore individual techniques slowly and intuitively, returning to those that resonate.

Relationship to the Vipassana Path

This practice complements the Vipassana Path.

While the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra offers non-linear contemplative doorways, Vipassana provides a stable foundation through ethical grounding (Sīla), breath awareness, and progressive training.

For those who feel the need for grounding alongside exploration, the Vipassana Path begins with freely offered introductory practices:

Vipassana Meditation – Part 1: Anapanasati Essentials (Standard Edition)
Vipassana Meditation – Part 1: Anapanasati Essentials (Food Detox Edition)

These introductory practices may be explored independently or alongside contemplative exploration.
